What is the Jolla Tablet?
The Jolla Tablet is Jolla's second product. In November 2013 Jolla launched the Jolla smartphone. Designed and developed in Finland, the new Jolla Tablet, as well as the Jolla smartphone, runs on Jolla’s own independent operating system Sailfish OS. The Jolla Tablet project kicked off on the 19th of November 2014 with the launch of an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign - the campaign reached its goals, and we aim to start shipping the tablet to the first contributors during the second quarter of 2015.
What’s cool about the Jolla tablet? Why should I get it?
Jolla’s independent mobile operating system Sailfish OS is the heart of the Jolla Tablet. It is built to give you the best multitasking experience on the market; it is fast and easy to use with minimal effort through simple gestures like flicks and swipes. Similar to the Jolla Smartphone, Jolla Tablet will be Android compatible, meaning that you can use Android applications in addition to native Sailfish OS apps. Sailfish OS offers a lot of personalization options, so that you can build your own user experience, just the way you like it.
How can I get the tablet?
The Jolla Tablet has now returned to Indiegogo.com! After a successful Indiegogo campaign in Nov-Dec last year, we are continuing the campaign on Indiegogo foreseeably until end February 2015.
Why are you running a second campaign in Indiegogo?
After a successful Indiegogo campaign in Nov-Dec last year, we are continuing our campaign on Indiegogo foreseeably until end February 2015.
We've received many requests from people who want to contribute now in order to secure their place among the first to get the Jolla Tablet. With Indiegogo's InDemand campaign model we're able to make this happen.
Why is Jolla doing a crowdfunding campaign?
Crowdfunding has been the foundation of so many amazing, inspiring and independent products, and what it stands for taps directly into Jolla’s ethos. We have a strong worldwide community supporting us, and we want to give people the opportunity to contribute early and take part in the Jolla Tablet campaign. Read more about how to participate in the Jolla Tablet development here.
In your marketing material you say that the tablet is "the world's first crowdsourced tablet". What does that mean?
The Jolla Tablet will not only be crowdfunded, but it will also be developed together with our community, this is why we refer to "crowdsourcing" here. According to our knowledge there haven't been other cases like this. Read more here.
How can I influence the development of the tablet?
We aim to take all ideas into consideration, and we’re thankful for all input you give us! We also aim to notify and respond to all request or idea threads on together.jolla.com tagged "jolla-tablet" and "feature-request". Of course we can't guarantee real-time updates to all posts, so please bear with us! Read more here.

Yes! You spoke and we listened! We've introduced the 64GB Jolla Tablet version, the battery size of the Jolla Tablet has been slightly increased to 4450mAh (previously 4300mAh), the display is now fully laminated, and we've added gyroscope and compass sensors. Regarding the 1st stretch goal (memory card support up to 128GB), we’ve decided to move forward with an open source memory card solution. This enables you to use memory cards up to 128GB on your Jolla Tablet for back-ups and additional storage, but due to Microsoft’s licensing limitations, cards over 32GB will not be directly compatible with Windows computers.
